Private banking awards national winners 2026: Namibia

Best international private bank: FNB Namibia

FNB Namibia stands out as the best international private banking franchise in Namibia. The bank’s client base grew 14% in 2025, with deposits rising 12% over the period. Growth and deepening penetration reflect disciplined cross-sell and client retention, with the bank’s net promoter score reaching 44% in the private wealth segment.

FNB’s operational excellence underpins delivery. The bank’s client-centred, innovative model combines superior relationship banking with advanced digital solutions, supporting sustainable growth. A 28-strong private banking team, backed by dedicated analysts, admin support and a premium desk, ensures high-touch service and segment-specific expertise.

The product and service suite is broadened through strategic partnerships. For instance, Pointbreak Wealth Management offers local access via the Pointbreak Money Market Unit Trust (managed by Ashburton Investments), while Allan Gray offers offshore diversification.

FNB Insurance Brokers provides risk solutions, and FNB Fiduciary Services delivers comprehensive trust and estate planning, including support from FNB International Trust Offices in Guernsey.

FNB leads the market in terms of digital adoption – 97% of clients have registered for digital banking, and usage is at 81% across private clients and private wealth. The FNB App enables instant account opening, confirmation letters, statements, digital loans and secure KYC verification; over 6.6 million transactions were processed across digital channels during the review period.

Sustainable engagement is also growing. FNB Namibia offers green loans at preferential rates to encourage uptake of environmentally friendly projects such as solar geysers, hybrid vehicles and ebikes.

The bank has also launched FNB weSave, a group savings account allowing members to save towards a shared goal, and a financial literacy programme that has reached 964,000 views. These efforts support shared prosperity, inclusion and responsible banking within the Namibian market.
